My name is Meg O’Neill, I am currently studying to be an Art Major focusing in photography with a minor in IGS focusing in Latin America and the Caribbean. Capturing the subconscious, photography manifests both the photographers and the viewers emotions. With photography, not only are remembrances captured, but in contemplating those memories we begin to shift our minds forward, using those memories to steer the way in which we want to continue along the path. Its funny how the mind works; sometimes we remember every little detail, where as others the whole memory is blurry, yet there is just one specific thing we might recall. Why do we remember some things and not others? I feel that in the inner workings of our mind, what we choose to carry with us and remember subconsciously continues to shape our life, even when we aren’t thinking about it. Embodied in our experiences connections form between ourselves, our community, and our continuing journey through life.
