Chandler Sowden is a senior at The University of the South where she studies anthropology. Besides a major in anthropology, she also dedicates time to studies in photography, both wet lab and digital. As a photographer, she blends together art and anthropology as a way of seeing, understanding, and speaking about, for, and to people. Chandler believes in the photograph's ability to convey the "humanness" of individuals living in a culture or lifestyle different from one's own. Photographs, when used appropriately, not only tell people stories about each other, but also tell us the stories we tell about ourselves.
