Anna Marchetti was born in Nashville, TN. She graduated from Sewanee, The University of the South in May of 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art. In the summer of 2011, Anna studied art through the University of Georgia abroad program in Cortona, Italy where she enrolled in Relief Printmaking and in an Art History seminar on the life and work of Caravaggio. Anna’s experience abroad coupled with her expansive liberal arts education at Sewanee has encouraged her to explore a diverse range of media and concepts in her portfolio. Anna’s work which includes painting, sculpture and video approaches the body as a surface where repulsion, seduction, threat and vulnerability collide and propagate.
